Marden Energy Pty Ltd trading as Network Energy Services was today accredited by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) as Australia’s first Embedded Network Manager.
Regulatory changes taking effect from 1 December 2017 as part of the electricity ‘Power of Choice’ reforms require most electricity embedded networks to appoint an accredited Embedded Network Manager. Changes made to the National Electricity Rules (NER) have created this new accredited provider role that is necessary to facilitate consumer choice of retailer. As an accredited Embedded Network Manager, Marden Energy Pty Ltd CEO Dennis Etchells explained that his new organisation can assist electricity embedded network operators to manage their network and regulatory compliance obligations, while also assisting customers within their networks to become on-market if they desire to do so under the ‘Power of choice’ reforms. “We are proud to be the first accredited Embedded Network Manager in Australia,” said Etchells. “Compliance is our priority, and we can now offer our experience to embedded network operators so that can adhere to the regulatory changes.” A family business, Etchells explained that his organisation understood the importance of building trust and delivering on expectations. "We have a long term focus and our existing clients know they can depend on us," said Etchells. “It is our customer service and industry experience that sets us apart from our competitors." Existing Network Energy Services clients will be able to benefit as a result of Marden Energy Pty Ltd becoming accredited, and should expect to receive further information over coming weeks.
